Quantum & AI: ‘a match made in heaven’
The OQC team had the pleasure of hosting Reuters and giving them a tour of our lab and QuantumComputers as part of their ‘Disrupted’ series, sponsored by Deloitte!
We walked them through the journey of OQC: from ongoing innovative R&D to OQC Toshiko, the world’s first enterprise-ready quantum platform, and how quantum and AI could work together.
At its core, Quantum AI harnesses the principles of quantum mechanics to enhance the capabilities of artificial intelligence algorithms. Unlike classical computers, which process information in binary bits (0s and 1s), quantum computers leverage quantum bits or qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously through superposition. This enables quantum AI systems to explore vast solution spaces in parallel, tackling complex optimisation, machine learning, and pattern recognition tasks with unprecedented efficiency.
The significance of Quantum AI lies in its potential to solve problems that are currently intractable for classical computers. From drug discovery and materials science to financial modelling, Quantum AI could pave the way for breakthroughs in fields where conventional computing approaches have hit limitations.
