OQC appoints new Chairman of Board
READING, UK – 2nd April 2025 – OQC, a global leader in quantum computing today announced the appointment of Jack Boyer OBE as Chairman of the Board following a comprehensive search process. Boyer brings a wealth of experience in scaling deep-tech and engineering companies, currently serving as Chair of Royce Hydrogen Accelerator, Bristol University and Non-Executive Director at Bela Holdings AG. Boyer is serving as Chair Designate, before officially becoming Chair of the Board on April 16th.
Recognised with an OBE in 2015 for his contributions to science and engineering, Boyer’s appointment marks a strategic milestone for OQC as it continues its global expansion and technological advancement. His high profile business experience will play a crucial role in guiding OQC through its next phase of growth.

Boyer succeeds Peter George, who is stepping down after playing a pivotal role in the company’s development. Under George’s leadership, OQC successfully closed its Series A round enabling significant advancements in R&D and expansion into the Asia-Pacific market. He also played a key role in securing the company’s recent Series B investment, strengthening OQC’s position as a global quantum leader.
